Project Progress Update
This project addresses a critical stabilization need for a leaking indoor 12 kV transformer in Building A100. It is a necessary initial phase of the Measure HH project, supporting the continuity of operations in preparation for the building’s scheduled demolition under future bond phases.
Upcoming Milestones:
- A Notice to Proceed (NTP) issued to MCM Utility, Inc.: December 8, 2025.
- H+W to submit design proposal for a replacement of transformer: Week of December 15, 2025
- Shutdown occurred January 9, 2025. Cooling oil test results received week of January 26, 2025.
- Proposal from MCM Electrical under review for the refresh of the cooling oil and PM service.
- Transformer PM Service shutdown is scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2026.
Project Features
- Disassemble transformer case and housing to assess and locate leak.
- Tighten bushings.
- Tighten fittings.
- Clean suspected leak.
- Re-assemble transformer housing.
- Re-energize transformer
- If corrective actions can be taken within the shutdown window, they will be executed.
