Project Progress Update

The project was awarded at the September 11 Board meeting and a kickoff meeting was held while programming and design meetings progress.

Upcoming Milestones:

• February 27th, 2026—Programming Approval
• April 4th, 2026—Schematic Design Approval

Project Description

The Miramar College Early Education (EEC) project will replace the undersized existing Child Development Center with a new 7,800 ASF facility designed to meet growing demand for early childhood education. The new center will feature interactive play areas, outdoor exploration zones, and a secure 2,300 SF drop-off area with access from South Campus Drive near the existing Parking Garage. Relocating the EEC not only supports program expansion but also strengthens campus connectivity between the north and south ends in alignment with the college's Master Plan. Project includes:

• Relocating an existing roadway
• New utilities
• Site improvements
• Demolition and hazardous material abatement of the current 6,900 SF CDC
• Landscaping
• Irrigation
• Accessible pathways and parking
• Curb and gutter improvements
• Signage
