About
About the District
As one of the largest of California’s 73 community college districts, the San Diego Community College District serves approximately 90,000 students annually at its three credit colleges, San Diego City College, Mesa College, and Miramar College, as well as seven campuses of San Diego College of Continuing Education.
The credit colleges offer associate degrees, while the credit colleges and College of Continuing Education offer career technical certificates that prepare students for transfer to universities and/or career pathways with higher paying jobs. In addition, our district now offers two bachelor's degree programs - Cyber Defense and Analysis at City College and Health Information Management at Mesa College.
The SDCCD maintains active partnerships with local industry, the community, the military, and educational institutions to ensure students have clear pathways to careers and the next stage of their education.
The District and its graduates have a combined economic benefit to the region of $4.5 billion annually – 92% of the District’s students remain in the region after completing their education. The District also proudly serves more than 5,000 active-duty military personnel, veterans, and dependents.
Bond Measure 2024
On July 11, 2024, the Board of Trustees unanimously agreed to place a $3.5-billion bond measure on the November 5, 2024 ballot. If approved by San Diego voters, Measure HH would address immediate and future facilities and infrastructure needs across the District. Measure HH has earned the support of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association, noting that SDCCD has demonstrated facilities needs and has developed plans that meet the Association's rigorous standards for bond proposals.
